Calling all Pittsburgh-area Ballroom Dancers!
Pittsburgh Ballroom is ramping up for its annual Harvest Ball dinner dance, and we’re excited to change up the format a bit this year. As part of our mission to promote ballroom dancing in the Pittsburgh area and offer opportunities to dances, we’re debuting a “Pittsburgh Ballroom Showcase.”
In addition to dinner and dancing on November 3, we invite you to participate with a showcase couple dance or as part of a group dance. We will need the names of everyone participating and their membership status (Pittsburgh Ballroom members have a discounted ticket price, and we give them preference if we get more applications than available slots.) Songs should not exceed 1.5 minutes in length (or up to 2 minutes for a group performance), and we’d be happy to assist with cutting or fading if necessary. Songs may be emailed to music@PittsburghBallroom.com or submitted via our form here. We’re running short bursts of the showcase (up to 3 dances at a time) interspersed with dancing and dinner throughout the evening, so the event is shaping up to be a great mix of social and showcase dancing that’ll appeal to everyone and give performers and competitors in the community a chance to strut their stuff.
This year’s Harvest Ball will be held on November 3 at the beautiful Edgewood Country Club, 100 Churchill Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15235. Doors open at 5:00 for hors d’oeuvres and general dancing; dinner is from 6:30 - 7:30, and then social dancing will resume from 7:30 until 10:30. Showcases will occur throughout the evening.
We’d love to have you participate. Reserve your spot now by replying to this email or checking out that form we mentioned earlier.
Thanks in advance for your consideration, and happy dancing!
